Kinney Receives SIUE Offer

February 7, 2008 by

Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville has offered 2009 guard James Kinney. This is Kinney’s fourth offer to date and his third since the beginning of the high school season.

Kinney is enjoying a superb junior campaign despite the lack of recognition he is receiving for it. As one of the top players in a competitive Big 12 Conference, Kinney is having his best season yet in this, his third year on varsity. Among his best performances on the season was his 23 point, 11 rebound and 6 assist effort in a victory over rival Champaign Central.

On the season Kinney is averaging 17 ponits, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists respectively. His play on the court has helped enhance his stock on the recruiting trail where coaches have taken notice. George Mason and Souther Illinois University-Carbondale already offered earlier in the season. More offers could be just around the corner as there are a number of schools who have an ongoing interest in Kinney.
